Our Story
Our journey at GARMAC began with our founder, Gareth McAveety, whose engineering career goes back over 20 years, graduating from a BAE SYSTEMS apprenticeship and entering the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Design Office. From here he worked on various military and commercial aerospace projects across the world.
One of the most iconic projects was working for Facebook’s Connectivity Labs on the groundbreaking 42-meter wingspan HALE (High Altitude Pseudo Satellite) UAV, named Aquila. As engineers at Facebook, the team designed, built, and manufactured several ultra lightweight composite airframes and successfully flight-tested multiple air systems.
Fueled by a shared vision and an unwavering commitment to innovation GARMAC Engineering Ltd. was born. Here, we continue to focus on advancements and optimisation in the composites space, harnessing decades of expertise and integrating an innovative approach to engineering design.
